I was thinking about the concepts of public vs. private, concealing vs. revealing, and the meaning that a journal or diary can have to an individual. As these were all of my journals, I was willing to make myself vulnerable to a point, but I also set boundaries by making the scans distorted. It was risky for me to do this, as I write my most inner thoughts in my journals; and yet, I often reported events and everyday activities in my journals as well. After experimenting with many distorted scans, I chose to reveal only the text that was vague and everyday to the audience.
